Cute baby shower for my niece

We just celebrated the cutest baby shower for my niece, and honestly my heart is still so full. She’s the second born great-grandbaby in our family — my son was the first — which already makes it feel like we’re watching this little generational story unfold. My son’s over here with four kids, and now Teddy is expecting her very first. And here’s another fun fact: I’m the oldest grandchild and Teddy’s mom, Tiana, is the second… so apparently the pattern continues.

It’s the wildest feeling when you look around and realize you and your cousins somehow became the “older” generation. Still blows my mind. But one thing I’m genuinely so proud of is how tight-knit we all are. That’s 100% because of our grandparents and the morals and values they raised us with. My cousins have always felt more like siblings to me, and I love my nieces and nephews like they’re my own babies.

And Teddy… she is seriously the most chill, caring, wonderful woman. Over the years I’ve watched her grow into this beautiful, grounded person, and this little baby is already coming into so much love. I’m just… so proud.

And as we celebrated her this weekend, surrounded by the same family that raised us, I couldn’t help but feel grateful. Grateful for our roots, grateful for our blessings, and grateful that this next little one gets to be part of a family like ours. My heart is so full.
